Japanese stocks rose Tuesday at the end of trading after returning from a long weekend, supported by the performance of the auto industry, technology, and financial sectors, against the backdrop of a weaker yen. The Nikkei 225 surged at the end of the session 3.45 percent or 1,207.51 points to close at 36,232.51, while the broader Topix index rose 2.83 percent, or 70.25 points, to 2,553.55.
