Jerusalem: Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir announced that residents of all Jewish neighborhoods in Jerusalem will be eligible for gun licenses.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz reported that this policy change will affect 300,000 people living across 41 different neighborhoods in Jerusalem. Ben-Gvir's initiative to arm Israelis, including settlers in the occupied West Bank, was introduced at the end of 2023, following conflicts in the Gaza Strip.
Colonists in the occupied West Bank have been reported to conduct almost daily attacks against Palestinian citizens, utilizing firearms with the intention of displacing them and seizing their lands and properties.
