Gaza city: Israeli airstrikes on Wednesday led to the deaths of 12 Palestinians and injured numerous others throughout the Gaza Strip.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the strikes specifically targeted areas in Deir al-Balah, resulting in the deaths of seven civilians and injuries to 17 others, including children.
The attacks did not spare the al-Bureij refugee camp in the central part of the Strip, where three civilians lost their lives and others sustained injuries. Additionally, two civilians succumbed to their injuries in the As-Sudaniya area, northwest of Gaza.
Israel's unilateral termination of the Gaza ceasefire agreement on March 18 prompted a resumption of airstrikes, contributing to a surge in casualties. Medical sources report the death toll has reached at least 7,750, with 27,566 others wounded. Within the last 24 hours alone, hospitals in Gaza have received 94 bodies, including seven retrieved from rubble, and treated 252 injured individuals.
Since the beginning of October 2023, Israel's military actions in the Strip have resulted in the deaths of 58,573 Palestinians and injuries to 139,607 others. The ongoing conflict has also left at least 10,000 people missing, feared to be buried beneath the debris of their homes.
The relentless aggression has forced nearly two million people to flee, with most displaced individuals relocating to the southern city of Rafah near the Egyptian border. This displacement marks the largest mass exodus in Palestine since the 1948 Nakba.
