Gaza City: Medical sources reported that the Martyr Mohammed al-Durrah Children's Hospital east of Gaza City has been put out of service. The hospital was incapacitated due to extensive damage sustained two days ago following an attack by Israeli occupation forces.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the bombing severely damaged the hospital's intensive care unit. Additionally, the occupation forces deliberately targeted and bombed the hospital's alternative energy panels, further crippling its operations. The medical sources highlighted the perilous situation facing the children in Gaza, exacerbated by the continued blockade that restricts food and medicine supplies.
The closure of the Martyr Mohammed al-Durrah Hospital marks the 37th hospital to cease operations since the onset of aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023. This escalation continues to pose a dangerous and catastrophic threat to the region's healthcare infrastructure, especially affecting vulnerable children.
