Israeli Occupation Withholds Bodies of 500 Salin Palestinians

The Palestinian National Campaign to Retrieve the Bodies of the Martyrs said Thursday that the israeli occupation authorities continue to withhold the bodies of at least 500 slain Palestinians who died inside israeli occupation jails, including the bodies of 58 others since the beginning of 2024. The campaign said in a statement that withholding the bodies of slain Palestinians in the cemeteries and refrigerators is a violation of the principles of international humanitarian law and relevant international norms, especially since the occupying entity has taken all kinds of judiciary rights from the families of the martyrs, to use these bodies as hostages in the case of the israeli soldiers detained in the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip has been subjected to an ongoing israeli aggression since Oct. 7, during which the israeli occupation has killed more than 34,596 Palestinians and injured more than 77,816 others, most of whom are children.
