Hebron: Israeli occupation forces on Sunday issued demolition orders targeting three homes under construction and a major water pipeline serving agricultural land in the village of Beit Al-Roush Al-Tahta, west of Hebron.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the head of the village council, Riyad Amr, stated that Israeli forces delivered notices demanding the suspension of construction and demolition of three homes currently being built. Additionally, the orders included the removal of a water pipeline stretching approximately four kilometers.
The pipeline is a crucial infrastructure, supplying water from the Beit Al-Roush reservoir to irrigate around 500 dunums of agricultural land in the area. This agricultural sector is a vital source of income for local farmers who are dealing with ongoing restrictions.
Amr expressed condemnation of the Israeli measures, highlighting that the actions are intended to displace residents and weaken the agricultural sector. The measures threaten the livelihood of farmers who rely heavily on agriculture amid the ongoing restrictions imposed on Palestinians.
