Tulkarem: For the 43rd consecutive day, Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on Tulkarem city and its refugee camp, and for the 30th day on the Nur Shams camp, amid military reinforcements, an ongoing siege, and widespread home raids.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Israeli forces have deployed military reinforcements to the city and its camps, spreading infantry units throughout the neighborhoods and their surroundings, while firing live ammunition and stun grenades to intimidate the citizens. The occupation forces maintain a strong military presence in front of the homes and residential buildings they have seized and turned into military outposts on Nablus Street, which connects the Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps. They continue to stop and search passing vehicles, checking passengers' identity cards, with some residents, especially young men, being briefly detained, interrogated, and subjected to physical assault.
In the Tulkarem camp, the occupation forces intensified foot patrols in all neighborhoods and took strategic positions in several areas. Forces raided homes and commercial shops, breaking down and blowing up doors, and vandalizing contents while firing live ammunition indiscriminately. The camp is witnessing widespread destruction to infrastructure, with homes demolished, looted, and burned. Remaining homes have been turned into military outposts.
In the Nur Shams camp, the occupation forces continue their strict siege, ongoing for two months as part of their aggression. This includes raids on homes in the al-Damaj neighborhood, where contents are vandalized after searching and interrogating residents amid gunfire. This coincides with the destruction of the camp's infrastructure, particularly in the al-Manshiyya neighborhood, where over 28 homes have been demolished as part of the occupation's plan to create roads and alter the geographical features of the camp.
The ongoing aggression on the city and its camps has resulted in the killing of 13 citizens, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens more have been injured and detained, while over 9,000 people have been displaced from the Nur Shams camp and 12,000 from the Tulkarem camp.
