Gaza city: Israeli navy detained three Palestinian fishermen off the coast of Gaza City after opening fire on them, according to local sources. They reported that the detained individuals were Abdullah al-Absi, Muhammad Maqdad, and Bakr Abu Abdah.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Israeli navy deliberately targets fishermen off the coast of Gaza on a daily basis. The navy engages in actions such as shooting at them, arresting them, and seizing their boats. Further intensifying the situation, after October 7, 2023, the navy completely banned fishermen from fishing, executed many, and destroyed most of the fishing boats. This has forced the fishermen to risk their lives at sea in order to feed their families.
