Jerusalem: The Israeli municipality in Jerusalem has approved the allocation of a budget estimated at 10 million shekels for the construction of a new tunnel in the Wadi al-Daraja area, south of occupied Jerusalem. The tunnel project is intended to enhance connectivity and infrastructure in the region.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the project aims to connect the Har Homa settlement, built on Jabal Abu Ghneim land, to the Begin bypass road near Beit Safafa. This development is part of broader efforts to improve transportation links and support settlement expansion.
The tunnel will be situated in Wadi al-Daraja, a strategic location that separates several Palestinian villages south of Jerusalem, including Sur Baher and Umm Tuba. The project has significant implications for the area's urban planning and the daily lives of its residents.
