Gaza: The municipality of Deir Dibwan, east of Ramallah, announced on Monday that it had officially received two Israeli military orders authorizing the seizure of Palestinian land and the construction of a military road affecting several land parcels in the town.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the municipality stated that the orders target land owned by local residents and urged affected landowners to contact the municipality immediately to complete the necessary legal procedures and prepare objections. The municipality emphasized that objections must be submitted within seven days of notification.
The municipality further explained that its technical teams are in the process of identifying the affected plots and contacting their owners in preparation for legal action to challenge the orders.
The latest orders have emerged amid an increase in Israeli military land seizure orders in the occupied West Bank, issued under the pretext of military purposes. The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reports that such orders are frequently used to build military roads serving Israeli colonies and facilitating their expansion.
The commission noted that Israeli authorities issued dozens of military orders during the first half of this year targeting hundreds of dunums of Palestinian-owned land. This has led to the construction of military roads, buffer zones, and other infrastructure supporting the settlement project.
