Israeli Forces Uproot Olive Trees in Deir Istiya, Central West Bank

Deir istiya: Israeli occupation forces uprooted dozens of olive trees this morning in the Wadi Qana area, near the town of Deir Istiya in the central West Bank province of Salfit.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Ibrahim Hamad, Director of the Agricultural Directorate in Salfit Governorate, stated that the occupation forces uprooted approximately 135 olive trees, each over seven years old, belonging to three local farmers. He noted that this incident is part of an ongoing series of violations against agricultural land in the area.

A report issued by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission in October highlighted that Israeli forces and settlers have carried out a total of 2,350 attacks since the start of the year. This continues a relentless campaign of aggression by the Israeli state against Palestinian people, land, and properties.

Of these incidents, the Israeli army was responsible for 1,584 attacks, while settlers carried out 766. The majority of these attacks were concentrated in the West Bank governorates of Ramallah and Al-Bireh with 542 incidents, Nablus with 412 incidents, and Hebron with 401 incidents.

These attacks have included direct physical assaults, uprooting of trees, burning of fields, preventing olive pickers from accessing their lands, seizing properties, and demolishing homes and agricultural structures.
