Israeli Forces Uproot Dozens of Trees in Nabi Saleh Village

Ramallah: Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday evening uprooted dozens of trees in the Nabi Saleh village, northwest of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to local sources. The forces reportedly escorted a bulldozer near Palestinians' houses close to the village entrance, where the machinery razed a tract of Palestinian-owned farmland and uprooted the trees.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the incident led to confrontations between the soldiers and local residents. The soldiers fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters; however, there were no reported casualties from these actions.

The occupation forces have established a permanent checkpoint at the junction between the Halamish colony, the village of Nabi Saleh, and Route 465. This checkpoint, which includes a watchtower, concrete blocks, and a metal gate, is manned by military personnel around the clock. The soldiers are known to inspect Palestinian passengers and vehicles passing through the checkpoint.
