Gaza: Israeli forces are gearing up to remain in Gaza until the end of 2025, according to a report by the Israeli newspaper, Haaretz. The Israeli army is actively expanding its presence in the region by widening roads, constructing substantial outposts, and installing long-term infrastructure. This includes developments on roads that once led to Israeli settlements, signaling their intention to maintain a presence in the area for an extended period. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the construction is moving forward rapidly. What was once a dirt embankment littered with debris from destroyed buildings has transformed into a bustling construction site. The ongoing developments include the construction of wide roads, the installation of cellular antennas, and the establishment of water, sewage, and electricity networks. Additionally, various buildings, some portable and others more permanent, are being erected. Haaretz further elaborated on the situation, stating that the development momentum is significant. Although the objectives might not be openly discussed, the underlying goal is clear: to establish the necessary infrastructure for a prolonged military presence in the area, at least during the initial phase.
