Israeli Forces Persist in Jenin Assault Amid Rising Tensions

Jenin: Israeli forces continue their aggressive operations in the city and camp of Jenin for the 91st consecutive day, marked by bulldozing, burning homes, and converting residences into military barracks. Military reinforcements, along with fuel and water tankers, are being sent from the Jalameh checkpoint to the vicinity of the Jenin camp.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Jenin Mayor Muhammad Jarrar reported in a phone call that occupation forces are demolishing homes in the camp, intensifying the siege and preventing any entity from entering. The municipality's technical crews are working around the clock on the outskirts of the camp, focusing on repairing damaged infrastructure despite the dangerous conditions.

Mayor Jarrar confirmed that 600 housing units have been completely destroyed, with many others partially damaged, making them uninhabitable. The Ministry of Public Works is actively working to provide temporary shelters for the displaced, with plans to set up 32 mobile homes in the Wadi Burqin area, each accommodating five people.

Jenin Governor Kamal Abu al-Rub highlighted ongoing efforts to address the displacement crisis in Jenin and Tulkarm by providing caravans near the camps. Abu al-Rub stated that 21,000 people have been displaced across the governorate, including 6,000 in the city, 3,200 in university dormitories, and 4,181 in Burqin.

Tensions escalated on Sunday when 25-year-old Suleiman Fawaz Manasra was killed by Israeli forces at Homesh colony's entrance. His body was seized, and subsequent road closures were imposed between Nablus and Jenin, following allegations of a shooting attack.

Israeli forces also detained two young men from Arraba, south of Jenin, and conducted operations in Kafr Dan and Yamoun, firing live ammunition at civilians and targeting journalists. Earth mounds were placed around Tawalbeh Mosque at the northern entrance of Jenin refugee camp, with drones flying overhead.

The ongoing military operations include training exercises around the Jalameh checkpoint, where live ammunition is occasionally fired around the refugee camp. Since the onset of aggression in Jenin 91 days ago, 39 Palestinians have been killed, alongside numerous injuries and detentions.
