Israeli Forces Open Fire in Southern Gaza, Kill Two and Injure Dozens Awaiting Aid

Gaza: Two Palestinian civilians were killed and several others injured on Monday after Israeli forces opened fire on a group of people desperately waiting for humanitarian aid in southern Gaza.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, this incident marks the latest Israeli attack on Palestinians who were attempting to access vital humanitarian aid. This follows a deadly Sunday during which 94 people lost their lives in similar circumstances while trying to obtain food and essential supplies.

Since May 27, 2025, a total of 995 Palestinians have been reported killed, with 6,011 injured and 45 still missing. These incidents have been described as "death trap" ambushes targeting aid distribution points across Gaza.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in a staggering toll since October 7, 2023, with more than 200,000 Palestinians killed or injured, the majority of whom are women and children. Over 9,000 individuals remain missing. The situation is further aggravated by mass starvation caused by the destruction of infrastructure and obstruction of humanitarian aid.
