Israeli Forces Maintain Aggression in Jenin for 128th Day, Displacing Thousands

Jenin: The Israeli occupation forces have sustained their aggressive operations in Jenin and its camp for the 128th straight day, continuing their bulldozing and destruction activities to alter the camp's features and structure while maintaining restrictions on access.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Jenin Mayor Muhammad Jarrar stated that municipal teams are actively conducting infrastructure repairs throughout the city as part of an emergency plan. This initiative aims to preserve essential services for residents and revitalize the city's economic cycle, including resurfacing and repairing key entrances to facilitate smoother movement.

Jarrar detailed ongoing projects, such as the resurfacing of major streets like Nazareth Street and Al-Bayader Street, and efforts to fully repair the water network and approximately half of the sewage system in the eastern neighborhood, costing up to 17 million shekels. The street leading to Ibn Sina Hospital is also undergoing rehabilitation.

He reported that the occupation forces have completely devastated the infrastructure in Jenin camp, estimating 600 homes were entirely destroyed, with partial damage to others. The aggression has displaced around 22,000 residents, posing severe humanitarian and economic challenges to Jenin Municipality. The direct damages have reached $300 million, with 4,000 workers left jobless.

Recent clashes resulted in a citizen being injured by a tear gas canister and a 12-year-old boy by rubber bullets as occupation forces stormed money exchange shops in the city center. Large Israeli forces raided several exchange shops, seizing cash, contents, and detaining employees.

The forces used tear gas, sound bombs, and rubber bullets, causing several journalists to suffocate. Israeli soldiers disrupted citizen movement, closed businesses, government institutions, and schools during a seven-hour raid.

In Araba, Israeli forces raided exchange shops, seized cash, detained employees, and closed shops, posting leaflets on walls. Daily military raids continue in Jenin Governorate's villages, accompanied by constant occupation patrols and vehicles.

The occupation persists in sending military reinforcements to Jenin Camp, with soldiers firing live ammunition and deploying infantry units in surrounding neighborhoods. The Palestinian Prisoners' Club reports that around 1,000 citizens from Jenin and Tulkarm have been detained in the past four months, with some later released. The aggression has resulted in 40 Palestinian deaths and over 200 injuries.
