Israeli Forces Intensify Demolition Campaign in Jenin Refugee Camp

Jenin: Israeli occupation forces blew up a Palestinian home in the Jenin refugee camp on Saturday evening, triggering a loud explosion that echoed throughout the city and causing heavy smoke to blanket the area.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local sources reported that Israeli bulldozers continued their campaign of home demolitions inside the camp. It has already witnessed the destruction of multiple houses over the past two weeks. The demolitions are part of a plan announced by the Israeli military on June 9, which aims to tear down approximately 95 homes in the camp.

The Jenin Municipality has reported that nearly 600 homes have been completely demolished by Israeli forces, while dozens of others have been partially destroyed, rendering them uninhabitable without full reconstruction. The Israeli offensive against the city of Jenin and its refugee camp has now entered its 159th consecutive day, resulting so far in 40 documented fatalities, with over 200 wounded, and dozens of arrests.
