Tubas: Israeli occupation forces (IOF) installed an iron gate east of Atouf village, east of Tubas, on Monday. The head of Atouf village council, Abdullah Bisharat, reported that the IOF installed a gate on the eastern side of Atouf village.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Bisharat explained that the IOF had dug a trench in the area years ago, obstructing residents’ movement and access to agricultural lands. He explained that parts of the same area had been closed off with earth mounds over the past two years.
A report issued by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission in September 2025 highlighted that the total number of military checkpoints and iron gates installed by the IOF in the West Bank reached 910, including 83 gates since the beginning of 2025. The report also noted that 247 iron gates were installed after October 7, 2023.
