Israeli Forces Halt Olive Harvesting in Qusra, South of Nablus.
QUSRA: Israeli occupation forces barred farmers from harvesting olives in the village of Qusra, located south of Nablus, early this morning. Local sources reported that soldiers, accompanied by a guard from the nearby settlement of Magdilim, broke into the northern part of the village and threatened farmers with weapons, forcing them to stop their olive-picking activities and demanding that they leave their lands.
According to Palestine news and Information Agency – WAFA, this year’s olive-picking season in the West Bank has been marked by repeated assaults from Israeli occupation forces and colonists. These incidents have escalated to violence, including killings, arson of olive trees, and theft of crops, while preventing farmers from accessing their lands.
The Palestinian Authority’s Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reports that since the beginning of the olive season this year, there have been 239 incidents of violence by Israeli occupation forces and colonists against olive pickers as of Octobe
r 29, including 109 cases where farmers were denied access to their fields.
