RAMALLAH: Israeli occupation forces Wednesday evening erected checkpoints to the north and northeast of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to local sources. They said that the occupation forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of the Abu Falah village, east of Ramallah, and another at the entrance of the Ein Sinya village, north of Ramallah, at a time when they barged their way into the nearby town of Turmus Ayya. There was no immediate information on any detention case. Israeli severely restricts Palestinians' freedom of movement through a complex combination of over 100 fixed checkpoints, flying checkpoints, settler-only roads and various other physical obstructions. Closures besides to other measures, taken under the guise of security, are intended to entrench Israel's 57-year-old military occupation of the West Bank and its settler colonial project which it enforces with routine and frequently deadly violence against Palestinians.
