Israeli Forces Detain Palestinian in Hebron Amid Clashes in West Bank

Ramallah: Israeli occupation forces on Friday evening detained a Palestinian from the southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron, according to a local activist. Osama Makhamra stated that the occupation forces rounded up a Palestinian from the governorate.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local activists reported that the occupation forces forcibly entered the al-Bireh city neighborhood of Jabal at-Tawil, discharging live ammunition, tear gas, and concussion grenades. Simultaneously, in the Ramallah governorate, heavily-armed Israeli infantry soldiers invaded Kafr Malik village, deploying volleys of concussion and tear gas canisters. No casualties were reported during these incidents.

Israeli occupation forces regularly conduct raids on Palestinian homes almost daily across the West Bank, claiming to search for "wanted" Palestinians, which often leads to clashes with the residents. These operations occur even in areas fully controlled by the Palestinian Authority and are executed without search warrants, as the military exercises its broad arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law, army commanders possess full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over the 3 million Palestinians residing in the West Bank. Palestinians remain without any influence over how this authority is implemented.
