Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces detained approximately 43 Palestinians and detained dozens more in several governorates early Wednesday morning. The detentions were part of a widespread operation across various cities and refugee camps in the West Bank.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, in Nablus, occupation forces detained 17 Palestinians from the Nablus refugee camp, the Old City, and Balata al-Balad. Several others were taken for field interrogation during the operation. In Jericho, 13 Palestinians were detained from the city and Aqbat Jabr refugee camp after forces raided and searched their homes, converting several other houses into military outposts.
In Hebron, the Israeli army detained seven Palestinians from the town of Beit Ummar. The operations involved storming and searching homes, with reports of ransacking amidst cold and rainy weather conditions. Further detentions included two released prisoners from the towns of Arraba and Bir al-Basha in the Jenin governorate, two young men from Qalqilya, a Palestinian from Tulkarm, and a young man from the town of Tuqu' south of Bethlehem.
The city of Salfit witnessed the detention of dozens of young men during a raid, where they were subjected to on-site interrogations and severe beatings. Additionally, in the town of Abu Dis, east of Jerusalem, the Israeli army conducted extensive raids, detaining approximately 20 young men. These individuals were interrogated and abused before being released later, with the Abu Dis Club being used as a makeshift interrogation center during the operation.
