Israeli Forces Detain 40 Palestinians in West Bank Operation

Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces launched a widespread detention campaign from Monday evening until Tuesday morning, detaining at least 40 Palestinians in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) stated that the detentions occurred in the governorates of Hebron, Nablus, and Bethlehem, with others distributed across Ramallah, Jenin, Salfit, and Qalqilya. The occupation forces also conducted field interrogations in various towns and detained dozens of young men.

The PPS highlighted that the detentions and field interrogations were marked by widespread abuse and assaults against the detainees and their families, including direct gunfire with intent to kill, the use of detainees as hostages, and significant vandalism and destruction of Palestinian homes.

The occupation authorities continue to undertake detention operations as part of their fixed and systematic policies, affecting all segments of Palestinian society. The number of detentions in the West Bank has reached about 21,000 following the recent conflict.
