Israeli Forces Detain 25 Palestinians in West Bank Raids

Ramallah: The Israeli occupation forces have detained at least 25 Palestinians, including a woman and former detainees, in the occupied West Bank over the past 24 hours.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Commission and the Palestine Prisoners Society (PPS) reported that the occupation forces are intensifying their detention and field investigation campaigns in the West Bank. The recent operations include over 450 detentions in the city of Jenin and its refugee camp, and 215 in the city of Tulkarem and its camp.

The detentions have notably increased in the Hebron governorate, with a focus on former prisoners who were detained after October 7 and subsequently released, only to be re-detained by the occupation forces.

In addition, Israeli police have rounded up 23 Palestinian workers from the West Bank in the city of Tiberias, located within the 1948 territories, claiming they were residing without permits. A young man from the town of Kafr Kanna, who was transporting these workers, was also detained.

In recent weeks, the Israeli police have detained and harassed hundreds of Palestinian workers, citing the lack of permits as the reason. These field investigation operations have escalated, often accompanied by abuse, threats, and acts of vandalism and destruction in citizens' homes.

These detention campaigns and field investigation operations are considered prominent systematic policies employed by the occupation forces. They represent key tools in the policy of collective punishment, which is used as a central strategy to target Palestinian citizens.
