Masafer yatta: Israeli occupation forces detained 15 Palestinians, including women and children, after an attack by colonists on residents in Khirbet al-Majaz, located in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, according to local sources.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Osama Makhamra, a local media activist, reported that Israeli settlers released their livestock onto cultivated Palestinian farmland, damaging agricultural crops and fruit-bearing trees owned by residents of Khirbet al-Majaz.
When local residents attempted to stop the colonists from further damaging their farmlands, they were attacked by the colonists. In response, Israeli forces reportedly attacked the Palestinians, pursued them through the area, and detained 15 individuals on allegations of assaulting the colonists.
These detentions occur amid a rise in colonist violence in Masafer Yatta, where Palestinians continue to face a campaign of forced displacement and systematic denial of access to their agricultural and pastoral lands.
