Israeli Forces Convert Palestinian Homes into Military Positions in Nur Shams Camp.

Nur shams: Israeli occupation forces have conducted a significant raid on homes in the Al-Manshiya neighborhood of the Nur Shams camp, transforming several of these residences into military observation points.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, local sources have reported that the operation involved a wide-scale search of the homes, where residents were detained and interrogated by the forces. Eyewitnesses within the camp indicated that several inhabitants were forcibly removed from their homes and directed to leave the camp, allowing the occupation forces to establish military and observation posts within these vacated buildings.

The military operation saw additional reinforcements deployed to the camp, specifically targeting the Al-Manshiya neighborhood. The area’s yard was transformed into a military point, and snipers were positioned on the rooftops of several structures. The incursion was marked by heavy gunfire and explosions, coinciding with the cutting of electricity and com
munication lines, including internet jamming, within the camp and its surroundings. Additionally, medical response teams were obstructed from entering the area.

The situation further escalated as bulldozers operated by the occupation forces began dismantling the camp’s infrastructure, focusing particularly on Nablus Street and the Al-Manshiya neighborhood. This destruction severely impacted vital utilities such as water, electricity, and sewage systems, along with damaging citizens’ properties. In a significant move, the office of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the camp was demolished following the removal of its external walls. This demolition occurred just two days after a decision by the Israeli Knesset to ban UNRWA’s operations within Israel.
