Israeli Forces Continue Large-Scale Onslaught on Ramallah’s Al-Mughayyir Village, Uproot Thousands of Olive Trees

Ramallah: For the third day in a row, Israeli occupation forces continued their large-scale onslaught on the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, carrying out raids and widespread destruction of property, according to a local official.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Deputy Head of the village council, Marzouq Abu Naim, reported that Israeli forces stormed more than 30 homes since dawn, engaging in threats and provocations, destroying property, smashing citizens' vehicles, and seizing dozens parked in front of homes. The report further mentioned that Israeli bulldozers have been active in opening a colonial road through the village, resulting in the destruction of thousands of dunums of olive groves.

Two days prior, the occupation forces began bulldozing the eastern plain of Al-Mughayyir, which is adjacent to the colonial bypass road known as 'Alon,' an area primarily planted with olive trees. The ongoing actions have forced hundreds of residents to seek refuge in neighboring villages due to the assault and an Israeli-imposed ban on entering or leaving the area.

On Thursday, the Israeli forces closed the two main entrances to the village, restricting movement and preventing entry or exit, including that of ambulances. Shop owners were forced to shut down, and residents faced restrictions on their movement within the village. Additionally, colonists have threatened residents through mobile phone calls, vowing to kill them and destroy their property.

The situation follows last year's actions by extremist Israeli minister Itamar Ben Gvir, who set up a tent at the eastern entrance to Al-Mughayyir, inciting against the village and calling for the displacement of its residents and the demolition and bulldozing of their homes and lands.
