Post: Israeli Forces Conduct Raids in Qalqilya Area

Qalqilya: Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday evening stormed Ras Atiya village, south of the occupied West Bank city of Qalqilya, according to local sources. They reported that a convoy of army vehicles entered the village, where soldiers searched a villager's home.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the forces also set up a checkpoint at the entrance of the nearby rural village of Izbat Jal'ud, where they stopped Palestinian-licensed vehicles and checked passengers' ID cards. Earlier in the day, the forces had entered the city of Qalqilya, stopping vehicles and interrogating passengers on al-Wadi Street and in the Shreim neighborhood.

The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses across the West Bank, citing the search for 'wanted' Palestinians. These actions often lead to clashes with residents. The raids are carried out without search warrants, in line with the military's broad powers.

Under Israeli military law, army commanders hold full authority over the 3 million Palestinians residing in the West Bank, with Palestinians lacking a say in the exercise of this authority.
