Bethlehem: Israeli forces forced a Palestinian man from Al-Walaja village, northwest of Bethlehem, on Wednesday to demolish his own apartment. Khader Al-Araj, head of the Al-Walaja village council, informed that the resident, Mohammed Saeed Al-Araj, was compelled to demolish his 120-square-meter apartment under threat of a hefty fine.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the apartment was located on the second floor of a building owned by the Al-Araj family in the Sami'a neighborhood of the Ain Juwaiza area. The demolition was mandated under the pretext that the apartment was constructed without a permit.
Al-Araj further mentioned that several homes in Al-Walaja, particularly in the Ain Juwaiza area, are facing demolition orders. These actions are seen as part of broader efforts to displace residents to promote colonial objectives.
