Gaza: Israeli occupation forces closed the iron gate at the entrance to Atara, north of Ramallah, on Monday morning. The closure of the main entrance to Atara forced residents to take long detours, causing significant disruptions to their daily routines. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the occupation forces also established a checkpoint near the "Halmish" colony, situated on Nabi Saleh lands. At this checkpoint, several vehicles were stopped, searched, and the IDs of passengers were checked, further impeding the movement of local residents and increasing tension in the area. The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported last September that the total number of military checkpoints and iron gates installed by the occupation army in the West Bank has now reached 910. This figure includes 83 gates installed since the beginning of 2025, with 247 iron gates having been set up after October 7, 2023. This increasing number of restrictions highlights the ongoing challenges faced b y residents in the region.
