Nablus: Israeli occupation forces on Monday evening assaulted a father and his son in Sebastia town, northwest of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to a municipal source.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Mayor of Sebastia, Mohammad Azzem, reported that the occupying forces barged into the town and set up a roadblock in the downtown area. They stopped Palestinian vehicles and checked their ID cards. During this operation, soldiers assaulted a father and his son who were attempting to cross the roadblock.
Israeli occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses across the West Bank, purportedly searching for "wanted" Palestinians, which often leads to clashes with residents. These raids occur even in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, without the need for search warrants, as the military exercises extensive arbitrary powers.
Under Israeli military law, army commanders have comprehensive authority over the 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank, who have no say in how this authority is administered.
