Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces Saturday evening assaulted the family of a freed Palestinian prisoner in Kafr Aqab town, north of the occupied West Bank city of Jerusalem, according to local sources. They said that the occupying forces barged their way into the town and stormed the family house of Ashraf Zughayyir, one of the prisoners released as part of the second batch under the Gaza ceasefire agreement. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the gun-toting soldiers opened gunfire in the course of the raid, injuring two. While inside the house, the soldiers briefly held Zughayyir himself and detained his brother as a reprisal to prevent any "public displays of joy," as the Jerusalem Governor's Office confirmed in a press release. Meanwhile, the Jerusalem Governor's Office added that the occupation forces broke into the family house of Ibrahim Abu Sneineh in al-Ram town, north of Jerusalem, and dispersed a gathering of people who came to welcome him in jubilation.
