Masafer Yatta: Israeli occupation forces and a group of colonists in military uniform attacked citizens’ homes, destroyed their contents, and detained families in Khirbet Janba in the Masafer Yatta area, south of the Galilee. The assault on the village has raised tensions in the region, with the local community expressing deep concern over the ongoing threats and violence.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, media activist Osama Makhamreh reported that the occupation forces and colonists stormed the village, causing significant damage to the furniture and contents of the residents’ homes. The attackers also targeted the Janba school, where they smashed windows, surveillance cameras, and tore up school books, further escalating the situation.
Makhamreh added that the colonists destroyed two vehicles owned by citizens Ali Muhammad al-Jabareen and Issa Yunis Abu Aram. The residents were also threatened with further incursions, harassment, and forced displacement, heightening fears of future violence and instability in the area.
On the previous day, colonists attacked shepherds in Khirbet Janba, resulting in injuries and fractures to five citizens, including young boys. This incident is part of a broader pattern of intensified attacks by colonists on shepherds and citizens’ property in the villages and towns of Masafer Yatta. These actions, carried out under the protection of the occupation army, aim to force the local population to abandon their homes for the benefit of colonial expansion.
