Post: Israeli Colonists Set Fire to Wedding Hall and Spray Racist Slogans in Bidya

Bidya: Israeli colonists set fire to a wedding hall and spray-painted racist anti-Arab graffiti in the town of Bidya, west of Salfit, at dawn on Tuesday. Local sources reported that colonists infiltrated the outskirts of Bidya, burned down the Flora wedding hall, and spray-painted inflammatory slogans, including "Death to Arabs."

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, violence by extremist Israeli colonists against Palestinians and their property is a frequent occurrence in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities. The acts of violence committed by colonists include property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes.

Between 500,000 and 600,000 Israelis reside in Jewish-only colonies across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank, which is a violation of international law. All colonies across the West Bank are deemed illegal under international law, particularly article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which states that the occupying power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.
