Israeli Colonists Launch Attack on Khirbet al-Marajim Community

Nablus: Israeli colonists on Monday evening attacked the Khirbet al-Marajim community near the village of Duma, located south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to local sources. The colonists reportedly arrived on all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and targeted the dwellings of residents, who responded by defending their properties.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, this incident follows a recent encroachment by colonists on the community land, where they fenced off a section as a precursor to taking control. The community has faced similar attacks in the past, notably in March 2025, when colonists arrived on ATVs, armed with firearms and clubs, and employed flammable substances. During that attack, homes and residents were targeted with stones, live fire was opened, and several houses were set ablaze. Additionally, security cameras and solar panels were destroyed, and water tanks along with other belongings were vandalized.

The violence perpetrated by colonists against Palestinians and their property is a common occurrence in the West Bank and rarely faces prosecution from Israeli authorities. The scope of violence includes arson of property and mosques, stone-throwing, and the uprooting of crops and olive trees, as well as attacks on vulnerable homes.

There are approximately 1 million Israeli colonists residing in colonies throughout the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is considered a violation of international law.
