Post: Israeli Colonists Attack Palestinian Farmers Near Salfit

Salfit:Israeli colonists attacked Palestinian farmers in the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan, located west of Salfit, and used pepper spray on them during an incident on Wednesday.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the attack took place in the Wadi Abbas area, east of the town. One of the farmers suffered from breathing difficulties due to the pepper spray used by the colonists.

These attacks are part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the olive harvest season. A preliminary tally indicates there were 219 attacks by colonists between October 1 and 12, with 136 of these incidents related to the olive harvest.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reports that 92 of these incidents involved direct attacks on olive harvesters or preventing them from accessing their land. Additionally, 45 incidents involved theft of olive crops or damage to olive trees. Other forms of attack include beatings, expulsion, intimidation, gunfire, tear gas, and arrests, as well as theft of olives and harvesting equipment and destruction of trees. These acts significantly harm farmers and obstruct their ability to complete the harvest.
