Israeli Colonists Assault Woman and Vandalize Property in Northern West Bank

Khirbet ibziq: Israeli colonists on Monday assaulted a woman in Khirbet Ibziq, northeast of the occupied West Bank city of Tubas. The incident occurred while the woman was herding her sheep, leading to her hospitalization.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the assault is part of a pattern of violence perpetrated by colonists against Palestinians and their property in the West Bank. In a separate incident, colonists vandalized palm trees and a fence on a privately owned land plot in al-Fairisya in the northern Jordan Valley. This was confirmed by Mahdi Daraghmeh, head of al-Malih Village Council.

Violence by colonists has become a routine occurrence in the West Bank, with actions often including property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, and attacks on crops, olive trees, and homes. Despite the prevalence of these incidents, they are rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities. It is estimated that approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are residing in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is considered a violation of international law.
