Israeli Ban on Vaccines Puts 602,000 Children at Risk of Permanent Disabilities

Gaza Strip: Medical sources in the Gaza Strip have reported a severe risk to 602,000 children, who may face permanent paralysis and chronic disabilities unless polio vaccines are delivered. The delivery of these vaccines has been suspended for 40 days by the occupying forces, causing alarm among health officials.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, these medical sources have expressed concern that the blockade on vaccine delivery is obstructing the implementation of the fourth phase of efforts to bolster polio prevention in the region. The lack of vaccines is critically impacting the health infrastructure and the well-being of children in Gaza.

The sources further highlighted that the health crisis is compounded by inadequate nutrition and insufficient access to clean drinking water. These factors are contributing to the potential for serious health issues among the children, with the risk of unprecedented complications looming due to the prolonged suspension of essential medical supplies.
