Israeli Authorities Mandate Self-Demolition of Palestinian Homes in Jerusalem

Jerusalem: Israeli occupation authorities compelled a Palestinian family in Sur Baher, south of Jerusalem, to self-demolish their homes on Monday, impacting 12 family members, including children. The demolition order was directed at Ahmed Amireh and his sons, Musab, Moaz, and Mahmoud, who were forced to dismantle their four homes.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the homes in question provided shelter to the extended Amireh family. This event adds to the ongoing tensions in the region regarding housing and land rights, as local residents frequently face demolition orders from Israeli authorities. The forced self-demolition highlights the broader conflict over jurisdiction and control in contested areas of Jerusalem.
