Jerusalem: Israeli municipal crews imposed financial fines today on Palestinian-owned vehicles in the occupied Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan, according to local sources. The sources reported that crews from the Israeli-run Jerusalem municipality raided the Bir Ayoub district in Silwan and issued fines targeting local residents’ vehicles.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the move is seen as part of the ongoing pressure and harassment of Palestinian residents in occupied East Jerusalem, especially in areas surrounding the Old City and Al-Aqsa Mosque. The imposition of fines adds to the challenges faced by the Palestinian community in these contested areas, where tensions frequently arise between residents and Israeli authorities.
