Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza Result in 59 Civilian Deaths Since Dawn


Gaza city: Fifty-nine civilians have been killed in a series of ongoing Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip since dawn today, as reported by medical sources. The strikes have primarily targeted Gaza City, resulting in significant civilian casualties across multiple neighborhoods.



According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the attacks began with an Israeli shelling of a house in the Al-Zarqa area of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City, resulting in one civilian death. Further violence ensued when six civilians were killed and others injured by Israeli gunfire while waiting for aid north of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.



Earlier reports indicated that one civilian was killed and three others were injured in an Israeli strike northwest of Gaza City. Another civilian died in an airstrike targeting a group near the courtyard of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in central Gaza City.



The Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, situated northwest of Gaza City, experienced intense aerial assaults, leading to the deaths of three civilians in strikes targeting two residential homes. A subsequent drone strike at the Tammous junction killed three more civilians in a tent sheltering displaced persons.



An Israeli warplane targeted a house on Yarmouk Street, north of Gaza City, killing five members of the Al-Duwaifi family. Another airstrike on a tent for displaced persons west of the city resulted in the deaths of four civilians, including a child.



In the Al-Rimal neighborhood west of Gaza City, two brothers were killed in a strike on an apartment. Similarly, one strike injured several individuals near the municipal park in the city center.



The Israeli military has also employed explosives-laden robots to demolish homes and buildings near the Sheikh Radwan water reservoir, accompanied by ongoing aerial bombardments. Drones have targeted civilian rooftops with explosive bombs.



In central Gaza, the Al-Nuseirat refugee camp witnessed five civilian deaths, including a young girl, due to shelling that injured 22 others. In Khan Yunis, three civilians, including two brothers, were killed in an airstrike on a displaced persons’ tent in the Al-Qadisiyah camp of the Al-Mawasi area.



Israeli artillery has shelled various areas in northern and southern Khan Yunis, while naval vessels have fired upon the coast of Rafah.



Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been accused of genocide in the Gaza Strip, with reports indicating the deaths of 64,522 civilians and injuries to 163,096 others, mostly children and women. Additionally, hundreds of thousands have been displaced, with famine-related deaths numbering 393, including 140 children.
