Gaza city: At least 17 Palestinians, including children, lost their lives and many others sustained injuries early Sunday as Israeli warplanes executed a series of airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, as reported by medical sources and eyewitnesses.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the most lethal attack took place in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City, where an Israeli airstrike targeted a home belonging to the Abu Sharkh family. The residence was providing refuge to displaced members of the Abu Shukyan and Suhweil families. Medical sources confirmed that at least 10 civilians were killed in this attack, with others injured and several individuals still missing beneath the rubble.
In another incident, four individuals were killed and others injured when Israeli jets bombed the Safadi family home on Yafa Street in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
Furthermore, an Israeli drone strike in southern Gaza targeted tents housing members of the Sharif and Farhat families in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis. This attack resulted in the death of three civilians, with reports of additional casualties emerging.
The continued Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has already led to at least 57,338 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 135,957 others injured. Thousands of victims remain trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to ongoing Israeli attacks.
Despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice to prevent genocide and mitigate the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Israel's attacks persist without interruption.
