The attack occurred when an Israeli remote-controlled quadcopter targeted a group of civilians, raising the death toll in the camp to five for the day.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, earlier in the day, artillery fire struck the As-Salam neighborhood east of Rafah city in the southern Strip. This incident coincided with another airstrike by an army remote-controlled quadcopter, which resulted in injuries to four civilians, including a woman, due to bomb shrapnel. Additionally, in the morning hours, a combat drone targeted a gathering near the Wadi Gaza Bridge in the central Strip, causing multiple deaths and injuries.

Since October 2023, Israel has been conducting military operations in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of 48,572 people, predominantly women and children, and leaving at least 112,032 injured. Furthermore, over 10,000 individuals remain unaccounted for, feared dead beneath the debris of their homes across the region.

The ongoing Israeli aggression has also led to the forced displacement of nearly two million residents from various parts of the Gaza Strip.
