Gaza: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has confirmed that Israel has rejected most attempts by humanitarian organizations to bring essential supplies into the Gaza Strip, which is facing a severe crisis.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the UN agency reported that the situation in Gaza is worsening as violent hostilities continue into the second week. Essential supplies are depleting rapidly, with some expected to last only a few more days unless shipments into the Strip resume.
The statement highlighted that most efforts by humanitarian organizations to coordinate access with Israeli authorities are being rejected. UNRWA spokesperson Adnan Abu Hasna expressed concern over the situation, stating, "There is a near-total collapse in all aspects of life in Gaza."
He emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire and the entry of thousands of trucks of aid, warning that without such measures, it would be "a death sentence for the place, the infrastructure, and the people."
