Israel Issues and Renews Administrative Detention Orders Against 81 Palestinian Detainees

Ramallah: The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PRCS) announced in a joint release on Tuesday that Israeli occupation authorities have issued and renewed administrative detention orders for 81 Palestinian detainees.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the use of administrative detention by Israel is escalating. This policy allows for detention without charge or trial, based on what is described as a 'secret file.' In just the past week, over 350 such detention orders have been issued.

The number of administrative detainees has now reached 3,562, marking them as the largest group compared to sentenced and pretrial prisoners, a figure described as unprecedented since the start of the ongoing conflict. The statement highlighted that some detainees have received "final" administrative detention orders. However, due to a declared state of emergency, these orders have been extended by an additional 15 days, with potential for further extensions if the emergency status persists.
