Israel Halts Construction in Areas Near Nablus

Nablus: Israeli occupation authorities notified several areas in the village of Duma, south of Nablus, halting the construction there. Duma Village Council head Suleiman Dawabsheh stated that Israeli forces stormed several areas south of the village, distributing notices that declared the sites as archaeological, thereby prohibiting any work or agricultural activities based on the Israeli government's antiquities department's powers and laws.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Israeli occupation authorities recently issued a notice of seizure for the archaeological site in the town of Sebastia, located northwest of Nablus. This notice involved converting areas of Sebastia's lands, one of the oldest and most significant archaeological and historical sites in the West Bank, into an "Israeli archaeological site." The move has raised concerns over the impact on local communities and their activities in these regions.
