Gaza city: The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) strongly condemned the Israeli attack on a journalists' tent in Gaza City, which resulted in the killing of six journalists: Anas Al-Sharif, Mohammed Qreiqea, Ibrahim Daher, Moamen Aliwa, Mohammed Noufal, and Mohammed Al-Khalidi.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the ASBU stated that this incident is part of a pattern of systematic attacks by Israel on Palestinian journalists in the Gaza Strip and other occupied Palestinian territories. Since October 7, 2023, approximately 240 Palestinian journalists have been killed, highlighting the severity of these actions and the disregard for international laws designed to protect journalists.
The ASBU, headquartered in Tunis, urged press, media, and human rights organizations globally to denounce these acts, commending the bravery of journalists in Gaza who continue to report under dangerous conditions. It also called for accountability for the perpetrators of these crimes through relevant international judicial bodies.
