Tel aviv: Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced the revocation of the residency visas for Australia's representatives in Palestine. He confirmed that he had instructed the Israeli embassy in Canberra to "carefully examine any official Australian visa application to enter Israel."
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the decision came in response to Australia's revocation of the visa of Knesset member Simcha Rothman. Rothman was scheduled to attend a Jewish community conference the day after his visa was revoked.
The Australian Department of Home Affairs confirmed its stance, stating it would ban the entry of anyone who promotes divisive and hateful rhetoric.
