Islamic Fatwa Council Condemns Demolition of Mosque and Prayer Hall by Israeli Authorities in Palestine

Jerusalem: The Islamic Supreme Fatwa Council in Palestine has condemned the demolition of Hamza Mosque in Jenin refugee camp and a-Taqwa prayer hall in Sur Baher town, south of Jerusalem, by Israeli occupation authorities.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Council issued a statement on Wednesday highlighting that this act is part of a broader aggression against the Palestinian people, their sacred sites, and their homeland. The statement stressed that these demolitions are a deliberate attempt to alter the identity and religious heritage of the Palestinian community.

The Council pointed out that the targeting of mosques is an infringement on the Palestinian people's right to practice their religious rituals. This action has the potential to increase hostility both regionally and globally.

The Council urged for immediate action from Arab and Islamic communities to stop Israeli violations against Palestinian sanctities. It called for these nations to take responsibility for protecting Jerusalem and Palestine, defending their holy sites and people from ongoing violations by the occupation authorities.

The statement further criticized the international community's silence on these issues, suggesting that such inaction only emboldens the occupation authorities to continue their violations across Palestinian territories.
