Ireland Denounces Israeli Military Actions in Gaza as ‘Unacceptable’.
Ireland: Ireland Friday condemned the ongoing Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip as ‘unacceptable’. ‘The continuation of Israeli strikes in Gaza is unacceptable,’ Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs and Defense Minister Micheal Martin said in a press statement. ‘Reports of dozens of deaths in the past few days alone are a brutal reminder of the ongoing death and destruction that the people of Gaza are enduring,’ he added.
According to Palestine news and Information Agency – WAFA, Martin voiced his concerns about ‘reports of further attacks on hospitals and medical facilities, which are particularly egregious with devastating consequences for the most vulnerable.’ Condemning the ongoing Israeli aggression in the West Bank, Martin said: ‘I am appalled at the severe damage caused to the UNRWA office in the Nur Shams Camp by the Israeli occupation forces’ bulldozers.’
He stressed that ‘UNRWA and other UN actors provide essential support to extremely vulnerable people and must be allowed to carry out this wo
rk.’ He also stressed the need for Israel to ‘fulfill its obligations under international humanitarian law’ while reiterating the call for an immediate ceasefire.
